SFTS has a bold vision for preparing leaders for Christ's future church. We have never settled for tradition for tradition's sake, but refuse to cut our roots to chase a trend. We are many things:
*A vital learning faith community, drawing strength from world-renowned faculty and our faith in Jesus Christ, whom we worship and serve as an integral part of the seminary experience
*An international and ecumenical coalition of church leaders on Northern and Southern California campuses, where students flourish thanks to multiple faith traditions and global representation
*An inclusive community with innovative programs, including the Program in Christian Spirituality and Clinical Pastoral Education
*A Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) seminary dedicated to critical thinking in biblical scholarship and theology, mature and vital faith lives, and practical arts and skills of ministry
*A founding member of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley.
